Singer Targa

Fifteen years after its founding, Singer Vehicle Design has grown from a small Los Angeles workshop with a dream of perfecting the air-cooled Porsche 911 to a globally recognized company with production facilities in both the United States and the United Kingdom, building vehicles to unimaginably high standards for customers around the world. This dream of creating 964 generation cars with looks that pay homage to the pre-1973 911s, but with performance on a par with today's supercars, has earned them near universal acclaim from everyday enthusiasts, the motoring press and those lucky enough to be able to afford one of their incredible creations.

Completed in early 2024, the Sotto Commission was the 300th 911 to be redesigned by Singer Vehicle Design as a classic study. This was a milestone for Singer, and as such, the car was featured in the trade press, including publications such as Top Gear, Robb Report, Autoweek, Hemmings and Motor Authority.

Only 450 Classic Studies are reissued by Singer, so these vehicles remain the model that launched the company's rise, while Singer continues to produce the Dynamics & Lightweight Study and Turbo Study models. Based on the 964, buyers could choose between the Coupe and Targa body styles, and between rear and all-wheel drive. The attention to detail that Singer showed in the development of these vehicles is unsurpassed in the industry, as every single vehicle is individually handcrafted for each customer. The company's motto “Everything is important” is reflected in every vehicle built.

The vehicle is based on a 1990 generation 964 rear-wheel drive 911 Targa and is painted in the unique 'Resistance Blue' livery with bright 'ghost stripes' to match the paintwork. Other options include the Ed Pink 4.0-liter engine (the largest displacement engine available), Ohlins adjustable sport suspension, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, nickel-plated bumpers, Singer lettering in nickel, nickel wheel centers and a titanium sport exhaust. Options for the interior include carbon bucket seats, tunnels and sills painted in Resistance Blue, grommets and Singer lettering in nickel as well as the Porsche Classic navigation system.

It was completed by Singer in December 2023 and delivered to its first and only owner in California earlier this year. Today, it is in delivery condition and has accumulated only delivery and test miles since Singer completed it, totaling less than 100 miles at the time of cataloging. With Classic Study production coming to an end and the remainder of production already spoken for, it will be increasingly difficult to find low-mileage examples, so the tantalizing opportunity to acquire the Sotto Commission should not be overlooked.
